Default A3 2.0T BPY pending engine failure

I'm new to this forum, so I apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong place, or if this is has already been discussed in depth. I just need some help/advice.

I have a 2008 Audi A3 2.0T BPY engine code, with the DSG tranny. US spec car with 80,000 miles on it. Didn't do my research, got a "sweet" deal on a fun car. No mods as far as I can tell. Car starts drinking oil after about 4k miles. No warranty, no returns...

Did the first oil change at a 5k mile interval (Mobil 1 synthetic). Oil was black as tar and thick. Car now drinks a quart of Mobil 1 every 6-800 miles. Second oil change after another 5k miles, oil isn't as dark, but felt gritty. Wiped out the oil filter canister with a rag and I can see the metal flake on the rag. Guessing the rod bearings are a ticking time bomb at this point. Now pretty sure that metal infused oil has probably circulated through the head and through the turbo.

Don't feel right selling it independently, really like the idea of what the car could be.

Questions: Metal in the oil (a significant amount), are the head and turbo done? Next, would really feel better rebuilding or upgrading the engine. What is the newest/most reliable A3 motor that will bolt to the 2008 DSG tranny? What other VW cars can I pull a motor from (don't want to splice the A3 harness).

I need to do this as cheap as possible. Please help. I welcome any reasonable/on topic responses. Thanks.
