Hey, first post here but hopefully the first of many.

I have a 2009 Audi A4 (3.2L not Diesel) and have been driving it for just under three years with no problems.
Last night I was pulling away at the Stop Lights and just as I got over the intersection (I'm still speeding up at this point) the Display came up with "ESR Fault", at the same time that this happened the power of the engine dropped quite significantly. The fault message disappeared off the display within seconds and power returned. I can press the "ESR Off" button and the yellow light on the dash (skidding car) comes on and off as i press the button.

I started the car up the following morning and there were no apparent issues, if there was a genuine fault would it stay on the display between the Tacho and the Speedo?

Am I right in assuming that the ESR is on by Default and pressing the button switches it off while displaying the yellow symbol?
