Default A6 cat problem???

Ihave a 1999 A6 Avant quattro. I have a check engine lighton and just got the following computer code from my freinds diagnostic readed: code is P0432 - Main catalyst below threshold (bank2).

Does this mean the catalytic converter is bad or just a sensor? Are their 2 catylitic converters on this model? What does bank 2 mean? How do you determine which converter is bad if their are 2 of them?

Please advise.

im pretty sure bank 2 is the post cat sensor. i have the same code popup all the tie due to a damaged post cat o2 sensor, id replace it if you wanna pass OBD2 emissions, otherwise you have to take the sniffer test. the post cat is really only for the emissions.

It's a V6, so there are 4 o2's B1 S1, B2 S1, B1 S2 & B2 S2.
