a6 intermittently revs high at start then dies
2003 2.7T
If driving longer distances, I don't have this problem.
If making multiple stops around town, will occasionally give a rough start, rev high in idle then die. Won't start back up. If I give it 10-15 minutes, will start back up and do fine. Sometimes when I first start it back up, it will die again if I come to a stop. Give it 10 minutes and it's fine for days.
Any clues?

I have a 99 passat with the 1.8t. It will start idle normally for 10 seconds then revs up high the dies. I've changed the throttle body but have had no luck as far as I've heard if you have your batter unhooked or have cleaned your throttle body. You will need to do a throttle body adaptation. Also check your o2 sensor wires. If they have any bear spots where they have contacted anything metal it can short out the ECU the car my run but the throttle body and idling will be spratic and inconsistent. Hopefully this will help
