A6 Timing Chain cover leak - DIY Help
I have a 2008 A6, 3.2L and both timing chain covers are leaking. The Alldata repair procedure indicates the covers can be removed and reinstalled from above and I'm looking for input on the difficulty and watchouts.
Has anyone tackled this on a C6 and has input to share on the procedure? It looks really tight to access the cover bolts near the firewall.
Alldata calls for replacing the bolts since they are torque to yield. I believe that's 16 bolts. Can someone confirm this via an Audi service manual.
What type of sealant is used? I know there is no gasket but the repair procedure didn't specify the type of sealant.
Thanks for the help.
