Posting for a friend who has a 2009 Audi A4 2.0 Quattro.
She was driving and hit a pothole pretty hard. Pulled over into a driveway, when everything was seemingly ok, backed up, then when she tried to go into drive there was a huge grinding noise and the car died.
When she tried to restart...more grinding noise and the car wouldn't start. Had the car towed to a mechanic (after AAA also tried to start the car).
Fast forward to today and the car started today with no issues. Mechanic is stumped as to what happened, but she is nervous about driving the car. She is going to take it to my mechanic for another diagnosis, but thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas.
