I bought a new 2005 A4 2.0T Quattro but opted not to take the £600 mobile phone preparation at the point of sale, thinking I could retro fit it when I'd nursed my bank balance back to a healthy level.

I've recently been told by my dealer that it's not possible to retro-fit mobile phone prep after shipping since they need to 'do something' to the steering wheel whilst it's still in the factory.

Does anybody know if this is correct? I'm wanting to either;

1. pay for a retro fit of the audi mobile phone prep
2. Somehow connect my existing Nokia CK1-W bluetooth kit so that I can use the buttons on the steering wheel
or
3. put a 3rd party solution in to allow bluetooth phone connectivity using the steering wheel buttons


I'm also using the Sat Nav+ system but not too bothered about the address book functionality working - would be nice if it could but it's the steering wheel buttons + speaker system that I'm most keen to use.
