I have a 1998 Audi A6 and remember getting a recall notice regarding the window clips and cables. Now when I research the recalls for my year nothing is showing up. Both of my front power windows have failed within 1 week of each other....any info would be great. Thanks!

 

I dont' know of a recall...but I do know that my sister had a 99 jetta, and she had the windows fall in to the door 3 times before VW/Audi admitted a problem. She had to pay up front for the repairs (~500 each!), but VW of America, after much hounding, offered to pay for the bill.

Those plastic clips are a big and expensive design flaw. I believe that the redesign is now metal so that they do not break.

I'd check with your dealership to see what can be done. If that doesn't work, I'd write a firm but professional letter to Audi of America, or try calling them and asking for reimbursement.
