Can anyone help me I have a 06 model A3 S-line Quattro 2.0 TD and I have just tried to fit an Aftermarket HID Kit and it was a bloody nightmare first of all I used the relays and wiring with the kit to plug them in but it kept throwing bulb failure warnings up so got onto the HIDs technical people and was told to take out the relay kit and plug them in as if they were OE bulbs this worked and they looked stunning.
This car has auto lights and wipers on function and I drove 2 miles to my house then back to my workshop stopped for about 20 min went to drive away and the fault computer told me my auto lights and wipers were not working and my wipers are dead now so now I cant drive my car because its bloody raining to say Im not pleased would be an understatment so Ive ripped the bloody things out and put it back to standard but problem is still there car has only done 10000miles and had no problems until I fitted these lights
Is there anybody out there that could tell me where to start looking as I have checked all the fuses three times just in case I missed one and they are all fine

 

i suspect that you've solved this by now but its important to use the relays that were provided with the conversion kit since the wattage required in the upgrade is actually ~30 watts less than what is normally being provided to the halogen bulb despite the fact that HID's areabout 3x brighter.

Because of this wattage difference some systems will incorrectly report that your lights aren't working even though they are.

 

Search the forums...this topic of bulbs out has been beaten to death. you need to add resistors to your wiring harness.
as for your wipers being out, not sure...could be a bad motor, I am not too familar with wiper situations.
