Default AHA vs AFA

I am trying to buy some spark plugs and I came across a category for the A4 Quattro 2.8 V6 that separate between AHA and AFA. How do I know if my car is an AHA or AFA?

Thanks,

What's your recommendation for the spark plugs?

This can be found in the maintenance manual. There is a sticker on the iside of the cover page.

You will also need a long socket wrench and a magned to get the spark plug out. I recently got Boch, platnum plated, and it's been working fine.

According to the Bentley manual, AHA is the 2.85 Valve engine. There is no listing for AFA, but AFC is noted as the 2.8 2 Valve engine.

Most likely an AFC, I used NGK spark plugs

It apparently depends on the year. What year is your A4?

It's a 1998 A4 Quattro 2.8L V6 with a number 5 on the plastic engine cover. I am assuming that will be a 30V (6 x 5v).
Looking for the correct spark plug. What's the recommended oil grade?

That's the same car I have. It has the AHA motor designation. I use 10W 30 in the winter and 10W40 in the summer. I do not recommend synthetic oil unless the car has always used it. The gaskets can be affected by the switch between oils (as told to me by an Audi Tech).

They use both Bosch and NGK.
