Everytime I use the remote to lock the door, it locks, chrips once, then the alarm goes off. I press unlock, and the alarm continues! I get in the car, start the engine, and the alarm still sounds! Eventually it goes off--once the engine's been running for a minute--but this is driving me crazy! I thought it was the battery in the remote--weak signal/poor range--but I bought new batteries and sure, the remote is more responsive and has a longer range, but the alarm still goes off each time I lock the car.

I don't care to bring this to Audi/VW. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm at a loss...
