I'm new here, this is my first post.
I have a 2002 allroad, 71000 miles, Tiptronic Transmission

The fan on the front of the radiator comes on as soon as I turn on the air conditioning.
I've had this car since it's had 45000 miles on it, I've only noticed this fan turn on at certain occasions, that is, after sitting in traffic with the air conditioning on, continously hard driving with slowing down and aggressive acceleration.

Now it comes on as soon as I turn on the ac, even if the car has been parked all night.

This seems like something I should be concerned about, any ideas suggestions ?

No that seems fine, as long as the fan isn't turning on when the key is out of the ignition.
If that happens there is a TSB for faulty wiring to the fan control module.

 

Fan will come on with a/c request.

 

If you didn't hear it before, but you hear it now, it would seem that it kicks in at full power. This will happen if the lower speed of the fan is insufficient to get the pressure in the AC system down. Could be, that the radiator and condenser are dirty (look between them). Getting them cleaned might help.
