The car starts then cuts out straight away, and the automatic system display isn't working. Have checked the fuses, but have been told it could be the main relay?? ( where is that? )

Have it VAGed for hidden codes.

 

Check Air Mass Meter, Vacuum leak after AMM so air comes in, not passing over sensor but ECU detect engine speed but no air detection so it shuts down ECU ign &/or injectors
maybe raptured inlet hose
