I have a 98 Audi A4 Quattro with the 2.8 V6 and automatic transmission. There seems to be a loud knock coming from the engine that I think is rod knock. If I do need a new engine. I plan on building a 1.8T stroker for it and am pretty sure it will mount to my transmission. The tranny is a new racing one built to handle about 700HP. I want a good 500HP and 450TQ out of the motor. Will this engine mount up properly and with the power numbers I want. Does this sound like a promising combo. The car is my DD but want to turn it into more of a track car. Thanks for any help given.
