Audi Myths
I'm in the market to purchase a used 2000-02 A6 but I'm not sure if that is a good car. I like the car but a lot of people tell me that Audi has a lot of problems and that they are high maintenance. What are some of the problems you guys came across dealing with your Audi A6?
True many audis haveproblems but its usually because the owners just drive it and dont care of it, then B**** on forums and reviews that audis suck. if oyu buy anything 98.5 and above you should be ok, also the a6 is really a reliable car. i 96 a4 had minor electrical issues which didnt bother me alot, 143k original miles, gears shifting was smooth as butter stil turned head. i barely spent money on maintenece. which yes is expesive along with any high performance german car. but again if you take of them they take care of you. their fun to drive and extrmely safe. i got t-boned last by a bumb @$$ going 50 with my sister in the pass seat. car was fvcked but we walked out without harm. so espacially if your getting a a6 id go for it. great car. try getting a 2.7t a bit more fuel consumption but has the b5 s4 engine capable of 500-600 AWHP, but the 30v v6 is still good for get up and go and great fuel consuption
when buying used you take a big risk! My a6 ran me $9000.00 in repairs in the first two years I had it and all at under 80k miles. It seems half of the audis will run to 200k with no problems and the other half are in the shop often. One major thing is that the car never left me on the side of the road. All repairs were not major just expensive through a n audi dealer. Good Luck! You cant beat these cars when they are running right!!!
