Audi TT 2001 Keyless Entry

Audi TT 2001 Keyless Entry
2001 Audi TT
My current keyless entry device is worn out mechanically and the buttons are falling off. I obtained a new one based on some of the information on the forums for which ones are compatible but unfortunately as I have failed in linking it to my vehicle. When I tried programming the new FOB I lost connection with the original. I was successful at re-programming the original FOB so it seems like maybe I'm missing something with this new FOB.
The original FOB has this info on it:
FCC ID: MZ2 410 819 6 3
CANADA 2674 102 665 VDO
4D0.837.231E 28/00
The new FOB has this:
FCC ID:MYT8Z0 837231
IC:4427A-8Z083723
4D0 837 231M
315 MHz
A6/TT
To reprogram my existing FOB after I lost connection here is what I did:
1. Put key #1 in ignition and turned to first position which turns on the dash lights and provides power to the systems.
2. Took key #2 and placed in drivers side door lock, turned it clockwise to lock doors.
3. Pushed the unlock button on my FOB (vehicle chirped/lights flashed) waited 1 second and pushed it again (vehicle chirped/lights flashed).
4. Turned off ignition.
This worked but when I tried with the new FOB the car never chirped/flashed lights and the FOB did not get programmed. I have even replaced the battery and still nothing.
I checked on one of the replacement FOB websites and it seems like their recommended replacement FOB matches for the most part. The SW version is slightly different but I didn't read anywhere to try to match SW versions. I posted a clip of the webpage data and a picture of the information printed on the newer FOB that I am having trouble with.
