Battery Disconnected - Funky Thing Happened
Hey All
I Had a misfire on cyl on I diag'd myself, but when i cleared the check engine light by disconnecting the neg batt terminal the remotes stopped working and the autodown windows stopped but the radio code stayed and even the radio stations stayed. this morning when i was on my way to work i noticed the autowindows started working again but the remotes are still inop. is this normal? if i have to reprogram the remotes thats no biggie but ive seen about 3-4 different procedures on how. LoL. what one is correct for my car. thanks guys and gals.

When you dis-connect the battery the window motors loose thier memory functions, so you have to roll each window all the way up, down and up again to set the auto function. Thats why it just started working again. As for the remotes they probably just lost thier memory re-adapt them.
sounds about right. thanks tech79.
ive searched the forums and found a few ways to program the remotes. none seemed to work. anyone help me out with the correct procedure?

Since your car is obd2, removing the batt cable will not clear a fault code. Only works on cars pre 1995. It takes 3 good no fault drive cycles to clear the code. My guess the start after you disconnected the battery was the 3rd cycle.
