Default Battery light on

New alternator and battery installed this weekend. Everything started fine, drove for about a hour and I noticed the voltage meter on the dash was slowly dropping. Not soon after the battery light came on. Got home shut the car off and restarted the car. The car took a little longer to start and the volt meter on the dash read about 10-11v. What seems to be the problem? Bad ground? I was so happy that I finally got to drive the car after sitting a few months

Definitely check the grounds and make sure the positive leads are tight too. There usually is a separate wire coming from the alternator to the positive battery terminal to complete the charging circuit. Double check the connections at the alternator also.

Since the original post, I'm on my second alternator! This time I got the whole system checked at Advance and apparently I'm not getting any voltage from the alternator. File another warranty claim and I should be getting another alternator by the end of the week. Some one help a guy out!!
