Default Boost Leak?

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie to the forum and would appreciate any advice from the more experienced car afficianados on the board.

I just ran a vag test of my 2003 Audi A4 1.8T and receivedthe followingmessage:

Address 01: Engine
Controller: 8E0 909 518 AF
Component: 1.8L R4/5VT G 0001
Coding: 0016581
Shop #: WSC 63351
1 Fault Found:
16683 - Boost Pressure Regulation: Control Range Not Reached
P0299 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded
Readiness: 0000 0000

Is this a boost leak?

Thanks for the advice!

Default RE: Boost Leak?

could be... but usually there is a fuel mixture fault as well and the engine will normally stumble.

i'd remove the bypass / diverter valve and check the rubber diaphram for holes
