Default Brake Warning Light and Turbo Lifespan

Hello,

I am looking at buying a 1999 Audi A4 Quattro Avant. The car just passed emissions inspection but failed safety because the brake warning light on the dash intermittently flashes. The wheels were pulled and the brakes are fine. The light did not clear...it comes and goes.

Also, what is the lifespan of a OEM turbo? The car has 113k miles on it.

Any advise is welcomed.

Default RE: Brake Warning Light and Turbo Lifespan

You should add brake fluid if this happens when accelerating, turning or braking hard.
The turbo should last a long time. I have 112K mi. now and am using Mobil 1 0W-40.
I change the oil every 10K mi. with a standard filter. My engine is in good condition.
