Hey guys, ran into a sinister issue yesterday.

Backstory, my fob key stopped working a while ago (changed the batteries, no help), so I've just been using the key to lock/unlock the car manually.

Well, yesterday I went to go unlock my car, slip the key into the driver's side door, and the door won't unlock all the way. You can jiggle the door open, but the alarm stays activated. OK, went to the passenger side door to unlock the car. Inserted key, door unlocks fine, but the alarm system won't disengage (the beeping red light stays on, and the alarm sounds when the door is opened).

I can open the door and get in the car, but the car won't start up with the alarm on. Any ideas as to what to do to get the alarm to turn off/disengage? I obviously can't drive the car as-is. Don't have a vag-com. TIA.
