Default My Alarm

Guys,

How do I test my alarm? Seems silly but I have never heard my own alarm. I have a Audi A6, 2008 model, c6 platform with a keyfob with lock, boot open and door open on it.

Also why does the alarm not sound a warning if I leaving one of the doors open when arming it? It lets me arm the car but then when I close all the doors only then doo the indicators flash.

Thanxs

Huggy

If I unlock my car and sit in it without putting the key in the ignition, after 2-3 minutes it relocks the doors on it's own. Then if I start the car and try to drive off, the alarm goes off within 100'. Very embarassing. I have to stop the car, lock and unlock the doors, and start it again. If I unlock the doors before starting it, then the alarm does not go off even if I sit in it for a while. I don't know if this is part of the alarm system/process, or just OOOO gremlins, but it has happened multiple times over the years.

ppgoal: I think your drivers door latch is faulty and not acknowledging you opening the door, which will tell the car you probably unlocked the car on accident (walking into a store and the unlock button is hit while in your pants) so it relocks and rearms the alarm. But in your case, you did unlock the car, you did open the door (but the latch didn't acknowledge) and after you start the car, it freaks out because it's not expecting a locked, unoccupied car to start.
