Default car dead - updated with fault code combo

Hi boys and girls,

Yesterday I was out driving, drove for like a mile or two then the car died.. I stopped on the side of the road and started it again.. Drove for a couple miles and car died again.. same thing, just started it again.. 3rd time, car died.. Started up just fine right away.. no messages or anything..

So I thought it was ice since it was a cold morning - poored some stuff in the gas tank to solve icing and the car was fine for several miles (dunno what it's called in english).. Drove it for like an hour and then some.. Was happy I had fixed the problem..

Suddenly the car died - won't start again.. Tried a few hours later, dead.. Was warmer so shouldnt be ice, tried this morning.. dead.. The starter runs, no messages no nothing.. just dead..

Any ideas? fuelpump? I hear a highpitched sound when I have the ignition on.. Can't say I hear the pump but dunno if I'm supposed to..

I havent checked anything yet, gonna check with vag-com tomorrow but I'm a but worried so I have to write it off somewhere

Thanks

I am having a similar problem. My car just died last night after driving for like 10-15 minutes and now won't start. I hear the starter silenoid engaging and the gear spinning but the engine does not crank over. I had it towed to a local import shop. I will keep you posted on what it is.

Well mine was a timing belt, so I'm guessing that isn't your issue.

For you it definatly sounds like you've got some kind of electrical issue. But I havn't learned enough about these cars to tell you what.

Alright!

Been listening around and possible cause is the fuel pump relay that shortens out the fuelsystem.

Getting a new relay tomorrow and hopefully that's that.

It was the fuel pump relay.. Hey, that's logical!

Anyway, switched the relay and car is running again

Funny when I look around on the internet same relay is listed for like $20.. When I bought it it was $100.. Gotta love the audi logo on it
