Hey there guys,

I have recently rebuilt my engine in my 2002 A6 4.2 V8. I replaced the valves, gaskets, water pump, oil and oil filter. I was able to get the car to start and it seemed to be working smoothly but with the check engine light on.

I took it out for a test drive hoping the light would turn off but I discovered some problems:

When in idle the car shakes more than it should, and also when I step on the gas it is very weak. It's not showing it's true power... I set it to tip-tronic to try and get some power out of it manually but it's still very weak and doesn't want to pull like should.

Even after resetting it.. Also the check engine stays on and sometimes blinks...

Can anybody help me out with this?? I don't have the computer to check the codes..
