If you have a lean fault then you have a vacuum leak. If there arent any bad hoses or broken check valves then you need a new PCV valve.

You also have to clear the codes once the repairs are done to reset the fuel trim

well aplugged filter can cause the lean problem.. when you get the filter off, if its just an inlet and an outlet in a line.. blow through it in the direction of fuel travel, if its tough to blow through.. that was definitely a contributor.. if it blows easy, keep looking..

good luck

the advice you got from the dealer is actually accurate.

a solid check engine light you can live w/... a problem nonetheless.

a flashing one indicates a catalyst damaging misfire... one you cannot drive w/

Well after 3 days on the jack stands and a lot of curse words later I finally changed the fuel filter. It must have been the stock filter. 110,000 mileson the car and I believe it was the original filter. I blew through to see how clogged it was and tested it against the new filter. It was like night and day. Literally, BLACK gas came oozing (not so much spaying) out the other end. After placing the new filter in the car runs like new. It feels a lot quicker, no rough idle and seems to run smoother all out, I even think it increased my gas mileage. The CEL if once again turned off and hopefully it stays off and the problem was solved.

Thanks for all your helpKevin
I appreciate everything!
