My check engine light has been on for a couple of days now and I think the car is running rich cause I can smell the gas sometimes. My car is lowered and think that my flex pipe (im not sure if thats it or not) looks kinda frayed. 01 A4 1.8TQ. Any ideas to why my CEL came on? And my car just hit 90000 kilometers. Any recommended maintenance I should do or plan on doing? Much help would me much appreciated...as you can read I don't really know a lot about cars. Thanks in advance.

 

maybe a gas leak was detected. check with a vag com

 

seriously why would you drive around for days with a CEL on? You need to have that scanned for the fault code. There are hundreds of them so there is no way to help you on a forum.
