check engine connector

Default check engine connector

I have a 96 audi a4. the check engine light is on and when i went to autozone to have the codes read no one could find the jack where u plug in the reader to check the codes. i looked all over the car and cant seem to find this connector. does anyone know where it is. thanks

Mine is in the rear of the console in the back seat ashtray. I would think most 96 should be there. Take a look and see.

Wow, in the back seat console.. ? I thought they were all under the dash near the steering wheel, but I guess not.

I just found this: http://www.bitnet.ro/vw/obdlocation/ Enter your data and it gives you the location of the OBD Connector...
