Unhappy check engine light?

Hey all. I picked up an 2007 A4 certified preown with 25k on it back in sept. I love the car. Today driving home from the store the check engine light came on. I know im suppose to go in for the 35k and I am currently at about 29k miles.

The car has been driving fine since i got it and feels like there is no problems thus far. The light came on randomly and im not sure where to start with this. It has a 100k mile warranty so I could just take it to the dealer but I would like to avoid any unnecessary costs as I just bought the car a few months ago.

Any ideas? This definitely worries me...

Have the dealer read the codes.

Thanks for the reply. I wanted to avoid going to the dealer if possible. Would you know what type of tool I could use to read the codes off of the computer? I have heard of a vag tool. My brother owns a obcII scanner and it reads his mercedes. Would that work on an Audi?

Also I fired it up to take a lunch and the light had turned itself off. Thank God! I still want to get to the bottom of this though.
