Default Code 17887 - loss of power

Hi

My 2002 A4 B6 keeps running a 17887 code
brake boost vacuum fault - intermittent.

Apparantly this usually means there's a loss of vacumm (probably due to a leaking hose) However, I can't find a leak anywhere. The mechanic can't find anything either. I can't erase the code.

It wouldn't bother me only I'm having problems with my CVT transmission. The car seems to go into high gears too quickly. In automatic the car lunges and surges in low gear. I don't have much power until the car reaches 60KPH or more.

This problem doesn't happen in tip mode, nor does it occur when I have cruise control on.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas. I've had the car VAGed but only the 17887 code comes up.

Thanks in advance

TC
