Default Computer Problems/Query!

Alright, fellow Audi Forumers!!!

I'm a virgin to this site as I only purchased my Audi A4 1.9TDi SE 2002 (UK) today and I'm looking for some advice!

I'm trying to discover which on-board computer that I have got installed in my new car. Firstly the display seems to be fine, when you turn the ignition on it goes through and does its checks for oil and water etc, but once the car is started up it goes blank and doesn't show the outside temp or fuel remaining etc. I've read through the other posts and have tried pressing the reset button underneath the right hand steering stick with no difference.

Also the display currently seems to be in a different language (German I think!) how can I change it back to English?

Finally, I'm not sure if its related but when you turn the headlights on the speedo and rev counter backlights do not light up.

Any help would be much appreciated.
