I got a used '03 A4 3.0 Quattro sport, auto,w/ 52,000 on it. I've found many post on how to reset the ECU and TB but nothing about why I maywant to do this. Does my car have memory stored from it's previously driver that I should erase?How do these worktogether? With the transmission?

you only need to clear it if its showing a CEL? and for the tranny just pull the fuse ( if its automatic/tip ) faults on the tranny ECU are shown on the selector on the dash P R D 2 1if they all light up together there is a fault then you need VAG to read it as you do with the engine ECU
