i had my audi 1996 a4 quattro 2.8 diagnostic check run cause the check engine light came on and the error came on cause my valve the guy said has alot of carbon build up so the exhaust system is filtering safely should i be super worried i drove 2 weeks with on but he said it was fine nothing wrong will happen had 2 wait for money 2 fix which i have now but my friends dad said he can just look at it and get the carbon build out or spray dw40 a lil bit in there what do u think is better pay guy 200 bux2 look at and clean out or have friends dad clean out then just restart the ecu from some 1

 

i had the egr valve error come up a few days ago causing my car to be sluggish, i just cleared the code with a $40 vag reader i got ebay, so far its running good.i say just spray the wd40 and clear it. do get that code reader though, ive notcied the B5s throw alot of codes and its better to spend $40once and always know wahts wrong than spending 50+ everywhere else(except pepboys or was it autozone.)
