Engine trouble? Second day of owning A4 B7 and CEL, shaking
So just got a 2006 Audi a4 2.0t and already having trouble (real surprise). It has 190k, but recently passed inspection, had a little work to get there.
I was driving today going about 75mph, accelerated to pass a car and it sorta kick backed/gargled/shaked (Hard to explain it) it just did not like what I did. During this the check engine light came on and started flashing. I came off the gas, and the light went off, and it stopped acting up. I gave it a few miles, then slowly tried to get to 80mph and I got the same issue (I stopped before CEL came on this time). This was all in 6th gear.
When I got off the highway, I tried jumping on the gas in low gears a few times and had an issue only once (of about 7 attempts). No check engine light, but it did not want to go any faster.
Help! I am desperate... Car is already discouraging me...I am debating already selling and making it someone else's problem. When I bought it I was told "Coil pack was just replaced along with thermostat and breaks all around". Thats it. Should I stop driving it all together?

I checked for a code, and it says there are none stored on the ecu. The light has been off, only flashed on. The guy I bought it from said this happened before and he replaced one coil pack and that helped. Does that make sense?

If it was a coil pack, you would have gotten a misfire code on it. Check my thread down the page about "glazed" spark plugs. Here's a link: https://www.audiforums.com/forum/gen...k-plug-218806/
If it shuttering like I think it is, it very well could just be that the thing needs new spark plugs just like mine has done a couple of times in the past few years. Cheap fix.

I never do maintenance, how many spark plugs do these have, and what should I look for when buying them? (Brand, etc) Hopefully go to get it done tomorrow...

The 2.8 is a 6 cylinder so 6 spark plugs. I'd go with the Bosch Platinum 4 plugs. No need for gapping.. However, if you've never done this before, I'd have someone with a bit of experience change them for you. It shouldn't take 30 minutes.
