Default Getting a new clutch, need positive opinions.

I have a 98.5 30V 2.8 my throw out bearing blew today so im replacing the whole clutch.

My local shop with the best labor price deals with SPEC clutches so im getting there stage 2 because it is a good bang for the buck. needless to say i did the search and saw that clutchnet and that other company are better, but thats not an option or me because i cant have the down time, so how have you liked your spec clutch if you have used one before?

its pretty nice, the only complain ive ever heard is from a guy named chris ostberg who said his spec stage 3 failed on his modded S4 and the company didnt back their product, my buddy has a stage 2 in his VR6 and i hade a stage 2 also in my old car and it was pretty nice the onl thing i noticed on both the cars was that pedal engaged alot earlier and the clutch had good bite. just my .02 cents so id say go for it.

ordered the spec stage II today, it'll be there friday or monday and the car should be finished shortly after. total cost of 1,224.08 (is that about average?) ALSO best part for anyone in florida, i live near an audi/vw specialist they specialize also in performance for both. how awesome is that its called avenue garage in pt Charlotte Florida. The clutch is 100% pure Kevlar. Im aware of the material and whatnot but what are the benefits of Kevlar?

Kevlar has more bite and last longer then organic material. It is more picky about how you break it in, just make sure not to over heat it during the break-in period.

You should have told me you needed a clutch, I could have had a South Bend or Clutch Masters to you by the end of the week. I am even able to ship CM clutch kits USPS in their flat rate box. I offer the SB and CM clutch kits at a discount and free ground shipping.

BTW CM sells a billet aluminum flywheel for the 2.8 30v.
