Default Help Engine Problem A3 2.0 TDI

Hi,

This is my first post here and not what I would like to be posting but I would really appreciate any advice or help from anyone on here.

I have a 2004 A3 2.0 TDI which has 68,000 miles on the clock, last Thursday I was driving to town and I heard a small squeaking noise at idle when at lights. I called Audi and they said my cam belt and water pump had 2.5 years left as I replaced it 2.5 years ago.

So I decided to take it into my local garage next to my house as soon as I got home that morning to get it checked out and also to take my time driving home. The squeaking had gone on the way to the garage but then about 2 miles from the garage I noticed the power reduced from my car when starting at the lights and engine revving sounded different. I know I should of stopped there and then and got towed to the garage but I was so close I carried on and dropped it straight off at the garage.

They had it on the ramp after a day and half but have left it till Monday (Tomorrow) now for an Audi expert who was back in to have a look at it and will let me know, they did say there wasn't oil on the dip stick but I've not had any warning or lights flash on my dash. (I know I should of checked this regally myself).

Tomorrow I find out after this Audi expert has seen the car but does anyone have any ideas what they think could be the cause of the problem?

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Craig
