Default help please serious problem

i was traveling down a nice stretch of road today and i have been noticing a real sluggish feel like i mean to the point of having to down shift on a slight incline ...... but i didnt really notice that it was a problem ( considering i only had the car for 2 days ) and while down shifting the car got super loud abd it was a huge increase in power.... i pulled over and checked out the exaust to notice that the flange right after the turbo to the cat was busted off clean i was running open turbo ..lol well not funny but .. ow my question is .. how do i get the down pipe out of my car .. i tried it all day and could not get it out i even took offf the bottom part of the exaust to see if i could pull it through and no luck .... someone please help me on this i want my ride back .. and any suggestions on what to get in place of the old busted cat.. i was thinking that the cat must be blocked in order to get that to happen is this possiable??????? oh and i have a 99 a4 1.8t quattro

i have a theory on my car, that whenever somthing busts, i replace it with the aftermarket upgrade

i'd go with a test pipe, or high flow cat from hopupracing.com or awetuning.com, and a new exaust system if u have the $$$

700 buks from awetuning.com for new borla catback

the easiest way is to put your car on jackstands and get a hydraulic jack under the rear subframe and take out the two long 18mm bolts and the 2 13mm w/ jack supporting trans and slowly swing the subframe and tranny downwards giving you enough clearance to remove the cat.
