I have a 2001 a4 (all wheel) and I need help to figure out what happened. So, I pull in my driveway to smell a nasty smell. I get out of my car and both of my rear (coming from the inside of the tires) tires are smoking. I get back in my car to put the e brake up and its hard to pull on. Almost impossible. What is wrong???

Jack the car up, take the back wheels off. Sounds like the e-brake may have seized up, or your normal brakes were dragging. You're going to need a rear brake job.

 

atleast your gonna need a brake job... you may need calipers.... cables... you need to find someone who knows what to look for

 

Its possible that the tension cable stretched and now its locked up. I would get a whole brake job done and start from scratch again.
