Default how to check if cambelt has been changed?

Hi guys

I am looking for some advice or help on this, the previous owner to my 2005 b6 audi a4 1.8 t has a stamped in the service history from a private garage saying the cambelt has been changed. Is there is a easy and straight for way of checking this, is it just a matter of removing a cover and checking.

It is really hard to tell most times. If you can remove a cover enough to see the outside of the belt & rotate the engine & look for the manufacture label. If you see it is an aftermarket company & no Audi symbol it is a sign it is been replaced. especially if a private garage did the install.
