I'm not sure how the A4 is setup, but my Q5 has an auxilary jack port in the glove compartment. This is a USB port with a standard I-POD cable. This cable can be swithced out for other devisces. I've seen these cables on Amazon for about $35.

Once you connect your Ipod to this cable you should be able to select the media button from the MMI and select the source. If it reads your Ipod it will show up in the listing.
