OK, I Have a '00 A4 1.8t.. My check engine light came on the other day and from now on whenever I let off the gas in 2nd or 3rd, Iget this weird, rattling noise. I figured it might be my diverter valvebut signs point to a "mass air flow" problem. If ANYONE knows how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate the help. PLEASE!! If I don't take care of this little situation, you and I both know that it could lead to bigger problems in the future!!..

 

Read the check engine light code, then test what it said has failed.

Most auto part stores will read your codes for free.

 

Thanks 2k S4. I appreciate the help. I was actually thinking about getting an S4 or just chipping my A4 and upgrading the turbo. What would you recommend in regard to higher performance?

 

Get a FLUX Capacitor! You'll go SO fast you'll travel BACK IN TIME!!!

Get all the maintenance up, & fix the CEL. The best bang for the buck is a Chip, & DV.
