Default Key Numbers

I have a spare Audi flip key with with number 4D0.837.231 A this was for my 1998 car which is now sold, the one for my current 2002 car has number 4D0.837.231 K.

My question is, will it be possible to use the remote on the new car because the letter on the end is different ?
I intend to get a new blade cut and have it programmed to the immobiliser by a locksmith, its the door locking functions I mean here.

Thanks
Phil

I would see if it works first. Search for Remote Programming, its been covered a lot and there are many posts that will tell you how to easly program your remote yourself. If it works, then go get the key cut...

Default RE: Key Numbers

I decided to get the correct key number rather than try with the old one.
As it happens I sold the old key on ebay for twice as much as the correct one cost me, so I'm quids in !!

Will be getting a new blade and re-programming next Saturday
