Hi all,

I have a 05' Audi A4 Quattro 1.8 T. There is a loud noise that seems to come out of the speakers when the car turns on. A loud, whining, droning noise, that almost sounds like the engine noise is coming out of the speakers.

I had initially thought this was related to the amplifier, so I bought a used amplifier and hooked it up, but the issue persisted. So I'm guessing it could be the head unit that's gone? The head unit does power/light up, but there's no sound that comes out, except for the engine noise.

Prior to spending more on the car, I would really appreciate any advise/suggestions on what may resolve this issue.

Have someone check the ground coming to the head unit.
