Default Mileage

My A6 1.8T (2002) seems to be eating up kilometres.
It has only been a year and yet the car has added over 30000km even though I haven't used it that much.
Any suggestions on what to check?

Tighten up teh nut behind teh wheel. There's a direction between it and how far/fast your car goes...

Maybe it's "eating up kilometres " because you don't feed it enough good 0-30 syn oil...or better yet, check your garage at 2 in the morning, maybe your wife/neighbour drives it all night, brings it back an
hour before you get up... ;-)

Check the tires to make sure they are the same size as factory. If they are smaller you car could be logging more miles than it actually is traveling. Someone may have also changed the adapation in the cluster for different size tires that are no longer on the vehicle.
