Default misfire help please

i just got a 99 A4 quatro automatic with the 1.8 turbo.. bought it wrecked putting it back together and i took it to checker to get an engine dino check.. it said it has random engine misfires which i already knew. it didnt help at all. so i dug into it and my second cylinder plug isnt firing.. but it has a new plug and i switched the coil pack with the number one piston and it changed nothing so i am tryin to figure out what the problem could be/where in the wiring........any help?

Change the ignition control module.

Yeah, it's probably the power output stage (ignition control module). It sits on top of your air box and has a connector in each side. They usually go out on number 2 first. Are you sure you don't have any spark, or do you only know that cylinder two is missing?

If you have an autozone in your neighborhood or other similar stores, they can check the coil to make sure the resistance numbers are within reason. Give them a call and give it a try. Good luck
