I have something very strange which occurred mainly when I drove to the coast. Both Audi and a local performance specialist company were unable to found anything wrong with the car, yet it happened twice (haven't driven to the coast since then):

I live about 600kms from the coast, halfway there I experienced power loss on the freeway (changing gears or pressing the fuel pedal flat makes no diff). This happened intermittently on the way to the coast and at the coast. Halfway back home and the problem disapeared at the same place it started. Happened in 2010 and 2011, very weird, and probably sounds crazy.

 

Any codes in the ECU?

Not sure, but I assume that would be part of the diagnostics tests?

I would assume so but I don't know for sure. If there are any, they should've been relayed to you in the paperwork from the shops that looked at your car.
