multitronic problem
Audi A6 1.8T 2001 approx 60000Km Has developed a nasty hesitation on moving forward.
From cold start at home ambient temperature 16/20 degrees centigrade everything is normal. Forward and reverse immediately responsive. All OK for first ten minutes of driving.
After 20 to 30 minutes and after stopping for lights or traffic using foot brake there is no forward drive at idle speed 800 rpm. Increase rpm to 1500 or more it will engage with a jerk and take off or stall. Only safe way is to use thehandbrake to stop and it will still try to pull forward and on release of hand brake take off OK. Reverse has slight hesitation after foot brake stop but is usable. All transmission shifts and power appear normal once car is in motion.
Can anyone advise whether this is in electronics or deep in the transmission. Thanks.
