My '98 A4 2.8 manual says to use only mineral hydraulic fluid so i got it at the local parts store but its all in german. They could'nt tell me exactly what i needed. The bottle does say not to mix different hydraulic oils. how can i be certain i have the right one? please help.

 

all it means is NO SYNTHETIC OIL is to be used for your PS. Take a pic of the label with your phone (you DO have a camera phone, don't you?) and post it here and I'll try and translate it for you...

 

I use my self, universal tranny fluid. doesnt work as well as stock, but its cheaper that fixing the whole thing.

 

jus make sure the color of ur PSF is honey like not green or other color.....i went to the dealer and got mine for $12 a quart....not bad of a price considering its same price anywhere else.....i wouldnt mess with universal fluid....
