Need urgent help, car is dead!
Hi guys, I have a 2001 Audi A4 1.8, 70k.
Not sure what to do, please help. Yesterday I had a family emergency where I had to leave right away, someone picked me up at the house. Unfortunately I left my car running and was gone all day. Lucky it was still there when I got back, I think it's lucky anyway. I believe that the car battery is dead, and it also ran out of gas. The car won't lock and it's in a bad neighborhood. Why wouldn't the car lock, even when I put the key in manually. Also, the gas cap is locked I can't even put gas in the car. How do I get it open? Is there a release button somewhere. I tried to get a jump start but it didn't work, don't know if I did it right. What could it be that it won't lock unlock? What should I do? Just get it towed? I'm pretty broke times are tough. Please help, need to go to work soon. Thanks!!!

hey, just try getting some one to let you connect your battery to theirs, just like you're gonna jump it, but instead of cranking it, unlock the doors, so taht you can get the gas lid open and fuel it up a bit, and after it's got gas, THEN you can try cranking it

thanks, I did try that, nothing at all was happening when it was connected, is there something different you need to do when connecting an audi battery to another car?? Thanks a lotfor replying>!

well im a bit stumped on the no power issue right now but to get the gas cap open open up the trunk and peel back the trunk liner on the gas cap side, there should be a wire that you pull on and it releases the gas lid lock.

well i just looked in my trunk, i couldnt get a clear pick and i also noticed something i was wrong about, it isnt a wire but an actual rod on an actuatorthat you can pull back with your fingers. once you pull back the trunk liner on the gas cap side feel to the rear fender wall and you should feel the rod, simply pull it back and there you go.
