issues
I did find the issue with the no crank. There is a ground wire that did not get hooked up. However I now have another issue.
I got the car running, everything was great, volt meter was at like 14, and .4 miles later the gauge dropped and the battery light came back on??? tested and say's I have no Alternator output?? Is it possible it was defective, or is there something that could have caused it to die again?? Can anyone help????
Thanks!

That is an odd one. As long as everything is now connected including the two/one pin plug then really the only option is a faulty alternator but if that is a new alternator then I would be suspicious that it is faulty and not another underlying issue. Let me know if you find anything..

light
First off thanks for trying to help me.. Kids first car and he wants it so bad and I just don't work on Audi's.
I tore it all apart again, and replaced the Alternator. Got it together and the Alternator made quite a bit of noise on the first start. The battery light went out and the gauge went up to the line between 12v and 16v. So I hooked up my battery tester and it is charging at 14.6 constant. I put a load on it and got 71 amps.
Now I took it for a road test. When I get the motor anywhere near 3,000 rpm's the battery light will start to flicker. I got back as easy as possible. Now if I free rev the engine at about 2,800 the light will just start to illuminate.
Any ideas what be going on?? I really hate to have to pull this thing all apart again!
