p164e fault code
Been checking the internet for the past couple days but I havent been successful. Usually I just troll for answers which this site has been very helpful with.
I have a 2010 Audi A5 3.2L V6. The low oil level indicator came on. added a quart. Still didnt go away. So I replaced the low level oil sensor and do an oil change while I was at it.
However, the other night, the EPC light came on along with the check engine.. and the low level sensor is still on even after I replaced it.
I plugged my OBDII reader in and ran a fault check. I also checked the oil level with a dipstick I bought since it didnt come with one just to make sure it wasnt an oil level issue.
In anycase, I got only one fault code
P164E 00 [039] - Mechanical Failure
9490 - Oil Pressure Regulation Valve:
Short to GND
I checked the fuse box and literally pulled all the fuses out checking everyone of them thinking maybe it was a blown fuse. engine runs fine, no stuttering or anything... just annoying to see the check engine light and epc show up along with a low level sensor.
Thinking the oil switch needs to be replaced. not sure though. any input is appreciated.
